About Kerlinbros Flooring
Hi my name is Robert Kerlin and here is our story.
In the late 1970’s my brother Mike Kerlin and I worked as carpet and vinyl installers for a man named Norman Bold. Norman; nicknamed, “Toad” sold flooring from a general store in Foster Ky. We worked for “Toad” for several years and eventually I was able to persuade a couple of flooring distributors to sell products to me. Thus Kerlin Carpet was started with a $500.00 dollar income tax return check. We sold carpet/vinyl from samples that I carried in my van. In the early 1980’s with the housing market booming and carpeting becoming more affordable, I built the store you see on our home page. I renamed our store “KerlinBros. Floor Covering” and in 1986 added the end you see facing U.S. 27. This gave us 1800 s.f. of showroom space on 2 floors and a 2200 s.f. of warehouse space. By contracting the building of the store myself and supervising or installing all of the jobs that were sold , I have been able to keep overhead low so that we can remain competitive in these very challenging times.
